A Dynamic, Vibrant,Ever Smiling and Gentleman Surgeon-Prof.Dr.M.V.Ranga Reddy

It’s hard to believe Dr.Ranga reddy Sir left for heavenly abode. But one thing I am certain of is that he lived a life King Size. Most impeccable dressing, displayed all associations symbols and badges and had the most peaceful exit. Only truly blessed people have that life. I have seen him in majority of our surgeons association meetings and actively participating.

Beautiful Family

A friend and my senior was just telling me that people disappear just like this from this World and God knows whether he or she will be remembered except when we write condolences. True people have to carry on their life or family and their work but definitely a person who is friendly, academic, compassionate, helpful and a teacher will be remembered for a long time like our dear Dr.Ranga Reddy sir

I started interacting with him 4 years ago when I stood in elections for the Association of Surgeons. He said I have grass root level support and not to worry. That’s the first time he gave advise to me . When I felicitated my dad for bringing me up at Film Nagar Club, Dr.Ranga Reddy sir came, brought a shawl for him, tried to elevate the mood of my dad who was not well and called him elder brother . I realised his maturity and compassion at that time.

He has raised a great family settled in the USA and had a great relationship with them. He used to show his granddaughter’s Bharatnatyam video in the USA. He was so adoring and loving. A true granddad enjoying the children’s achievements. He gave them a good education and life.

He was very academic and loved teaching students. He dedicated his career to the Case presentations for postgraduates and students. He used to take classes in medical college with passion and encourage them to interact. Even a day prior to his exit he called Dr.Ravinder Rao sir and said he will come and conduct more academics. He had never ending jeal to teach. He always used to sit in front in conferences and be involved in analysing complex cases. He never insulted students when they make mistakes. He used to be very simple, clear and concise in teaching.

At Gandhi hospital he used to encoursage juniors to teach and operate in his unit.

IMA and ASI were like his children and if he was in the city he used to attend every meeting , stay till the end ,talk with everyone, cut some witty jokes and make the atmosphere lively. He never used to carry any ill will to anyone or show it. He was an inclusive person.

Personally with me he used to give me suggestions on how to dress but it’s difficult to match his dashing style and taste of colours. He was a Raymonds Man. For our association he used to give suggestions of improving the teaching and was one of my silent supporters. He greatly appreciated our online teaching programs and used to be visible till the end. I feel sad that I won’t be seeing him and will miss him a lot.

His departure is an irreparable loss to all of us . His friendly smile will always be missed.

He was a magnetic person and treated young and seniors alike. He used to advise college and university officials for improving academics.

His passion was for postgraduate quiz events, fondly called as Dr.Ranga Reddy quiz which is an ongoing program and conducted annually at every Telangana Surgeons state chapter. He used to stay with students, encourage them to participate in quizzes and used to enjoy the interaction. Very rare to see such dedication in participating in every program, interacting, advising, sharing a drink, having food and staying till the end while many used to leave the venue. He told me once I am happy Jagdish that you have done more than 100 programs in your tenure off site and on-site , don’t bother politics just continue to do what you are doing. I will always remember him and respect him.

We all will be missing a dynamic surgeon, vibrant personality, friendly guide and protective senior. May God rest his soul in peace and am sure he will be towering personality and Raymond Man there too.
