Seoul.

With Prof Kim, Severance Robotic Institute,Yonsei University

Before we started our program I went to Severance Robotic Institute, Yonsei University at Seoul to check what I am doing and going to do is standard. We need to compare ourselves with the bat in the World.

Whenever I attend any conference, like recently IASO or IASGO, some Surgeons walk to me and thank me for training in Minimally Invasive Colo Rectal Surgery in the workshop he or she attended done by us many years ago and that it gave them confidence to do minimally invasive surgery after adoptinh our techniques. Dr. Vikas always was the pillar of the program.

15 years ago at a conference in Mumbai, Mr. Anirudh from Ethicon had met me at a Coffee meet and proposed an idea of training Surgeons across India in minimally invasive surgery called CREST. It was a brilliant idea and I immediately said yes because I strongly believe once we learn new technology ,we must teach 10 more and those 10 will teach another 10, and overall the humanity will benefit

MISSION: Train selective experienced delegates, with structured training in Low Anterior resection and Hemicolectomy for Rectal and Colon Cancers

VISION-Adoption of standardised techniques and systematic surgical management of Colo Rectal cancers

Mr. Ravi Prakash of Ethicon was instrumental in this program with screening of delegates and arranging facilities

We are continuing the program still and our program multiplied with the addition of f Medtronics with PACE program another Colo Rectal program. Mr. Nurul Hasan takes care of this program with great passion.

These were two day programs with two to three surgeries usually, one rectal cancer and another colon cancer. And we showed them how to do proper technique with slow, step by step approach. And later on we used to discuss the challenges, the problem they faced and how to solve them.

This was a program which was an instant hit and has a waiting list. It was free, structured and with mutual interaction. We feel proud when we see delegates who attended our program training others now. That’s our goal

When a Surgeon walks to us and thanks us for our training program, I am filled with joy that we are helping the humanity by these structured training modules. And we hope to continue them with God almighty’s support
